Kendrah Potts is a leading barrister in commercial litigation, sports law and civil fraud. She was on The Lawyer’s Hot 100 Lawyers for 2021 and won Sport Junior of the Year in the Legal 500 Bar Awards 2022 (and was nominated in 2023 and 2024). She is described in the directories as “a superstar and searingly intelligent”, who is a “strategic thinker” and “superb team player.”
Kendrah’s commercial practice includes advising on all aspects of civil fraud, corporate and business disputes and breach of contract claims. She is recognised in the directories as a leading junior in civil fraud and commercial litigation and is instructed in high profile, complex cases, including two of the largest commercial and civil fraud cases in recent years (PIFSS v Al Rajaan & Ors and Suppipat & Ors v Narongdej & Ors, which were in The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2020 and 2022).
Kendrah is ranked in band 1 in the directories for sports law and is consistently instructed on leading cases, including for Jannik Sinner, Lucas Paquetá, Kieran Trippier, Ollie Robinson, Daniel Sturridge and for governing bodies in disputes resulting from Covid and the invasion of Ukraine. She has extensive experience of commercial disputes and a wide range of disciplinary matters in the sports sector. She is frequently instructed by Premier League and Championship clubs, players and athletes, national and international sport governing bodies and agents.
Kendrah is widely recognised for her advocacy skills, being described as an “astute” and “skilful” advocate. She has extensive advocacy experience, from interim applications to trials involving significant cross-examination of witnesses of fact and experts, and is regularly instructed in cases against silks. She is described as “a master of case strategy and witness handling”. After many years as a solicitor and spending time in-house on secondment, she has an excellent understanding of the demands on clients and is “very hands-on and easy to work with” and adopts a “pragmatic and commercial approach”.
Kendrah is an accredited mediator and also sits as an arbitrator. She is able to work in Spanish and French.
Prior to joining the Bar, Kendrah worked as a solicitor for eleven years. After eight years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, she joined Onside Law (where she was a Partner and Head of Litigation) before joining Mishcon de Reya.

Kendrah is recognised in the directories as a leading junior in commercial litigation. She advises on a broad range of commercial disputes, including contractual matters, business and company disputes (including breach of director duties, joint venture disputes, unfair prejudice and derivative claims), across various industry sectors.

Prior to joining the Bar, Kendrah advised clients on a range of commercial disputes before arbitral bodies, including in the sports industry (please see the “Sports” link for further information on Kendrah’s sports arbitration work). Kendrah has worked in Paris, Barcelona and Switzerland and is also able to work in French and Spanish.
Kendrah is the only junior to be ranked in band 1 in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 for sport. She is regularly instructed in high profile cases against silks.
She advises on all sports-related matters, including financial fair play, corruption, match-fixing, disrepute charges, player/agent disputes, anti-doping and challenges to decisions of sport governing bodies brought on the basis of the sports supervisory review jurisdiction, restraint of trade or breaches of competition law.
Kendrah is on the arbitral and mediation panels of Sport Resolutions and sits on the Union Cycliste Internationale’s Anti-Doping Panel, Basketball Arbitral Tribunal and the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations disciplinary and arbitral panels.
Kendrah was appointed to the Challenge Panel advising the UK Government on its review of UK Anti-Doping in 2017. She was also Legal Counsel to the international commission established by the Union Cycliste Internationale to investigate doping and related allegations of corruption and mismanagement in cycling and undertook a secondment to the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games where she was the lead lawyer on sports integrity and anti-doping.
Kendrah co-authored a new chapter on Misconduct in the Fourth Edition of Sport: Law and Practice published in March 2021 and on Safeguarding in Football Law. She is an editor for LawInSport and regularly speaks at conferences and publishes articles.
Kendrah is currently instructed on a number of confidential cases before the Court of Arbitration for Sport and first instance sport governing body tribunals, as well as on various player, club and agent disputes in Rule K arbitrations.

Kendrah is a CEDR accredited mediator and is on the Sport Resolutions Mediation Panel. In acting as mediator Kendrah draws on her experiences as a solicitor in private practice and in-house, which provided her with a particularly good understanding of the commercial realities in which parties operate and which is often crucial to facilitating settlement.
Kendrah also sits as an arbitrator. In respect of commercial disputes, Kendrah is on the panel for the London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation.
