News & Judgments
6 January 2022

Paul Mitchell KC, instructed by Laytons, has completed another successful claim for a client seeking damages after being the victim of abusively pursued legal proceedings.  Dr Geoff Monks – whom readers of Private Eye will recognise as “The Lowick One” – has recovered by way of negotiation substantial damages from the successor council to East Northamptonshire Council.  This is the first time that the tort of abuse has been successfully used to recover damages since 1861.  Read Paul’s case note here.
