On 27 September 2023, Mr Justice Constable handed down judgment in a valuer’s negligence claim, after a trial in July 2023 with an all 4 New Square counsel line up. Andrew Nicol acted for the Claimants (bridging finance providers), instructed by Kamran Rehman and Bronagh Adams of Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP, and Tom Asquith acted for the Defendant valuer, instructed by Caterina Yandell and Kate Courtman of Kennedys Law LLP.

The judgment of Mr Justice Constable (which can be found here) addresses a number of issues, including the permissible margin of error, interest as damages, scope of duty and contributory negligence.
