We are delighted to announce that Camilla Cockerill, William Birch and Edward Grigg have accepted tenancy offers following the successful completion of their pupillages.

It is a real pleasure to welcome them to Chambers where they will be joining an exceptionally talented group of junior practitioners. I wish them well in what will doubtless be very successful careers ahead.”

Camilla read English Literature at Cambridge, graduating with First Class Honours and winning several University and College prizes. Prior to starting pupillage she worked in Slaughter and May’s London and Brussels offices, and in the EU and arbitration departments of the Spanish firm Uría Menéndez in Madrid. She has undertaken pro-bono work alongside her commercial work, representing asylum seekers in Thessaloniki and before the French immigration authority OFPRA in Paris. Camilla speaks Spanish, French and some Portuguese. She is developing a broad commercial practice, with a particular interest in professional liability, arbitration and public law.

William read History at Robinson College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a Double First and was awarded a Senior Scholarship alongside several prizes, including the Trevelyan History Prize. He then completed an accelerated Law with Senior Status degree at Keble College, Oxford before achieving a Distinction at Bar School alongside the City Law School Scholarship for Academic Excellence. William is developing a broad commercial practice, with a particular interest in professional liability, civil fraud and also sports work.

Ed studied Classics at New College, Oxford, graduating with a Double First and winning multiple academic awards. He then completed the GDL and BVS at City, University of London, gaining a Distinction in both. Ed also holds an LLM with Distinction from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Thouron Scholar at the Carey Law School and Research Fellow at the Wharton Business School. Before coming to the Bar, Ed was a Visiting Lecturer in Public Law at City, where he taught both undergraduate and GDL students. He is building a practice across all of Chambers’ core areas of expertise, including professional negligence, insurance and general commercial litigation.
