4 New Square Chambers’ Theo Barclay has acted for leading footwear manufacturer Dream Pairs in a Chancery Division trial over the logo it applies to its football boots and other footwear. The owners of the Umbro brand said that the logo was confusingly similar to its trademarked logo and took unfair advantage of the reputation of its trade marks.
Miles J dismissed Umbro’s claims in their entirety and gave a comprehensive summary of the law that applies to claims for the infringement of logo marks.
Theo was instructed by Geoff Steward at Stobbs IP.
