Sheffield United and others v Shepherd & Wedderburn

4 New Square Chambers’ Ben Elkington KC, Justin Fenwick KC, Thomas Ogden and Pippa Manby, instructed by Penningtons Manches Cooper partner Alex Fox and senior associate Charlotte Hill, are acting for the claimants in this professional negligence lawsuit launched by Sheffield United’s ex-owner over its role in the football club’s controversial sale and the court battle that ensued.

4 New Square Chambers’ Neil Hext KC, instructed by Keogh’s partners Richard Houseago and Matthew Rogers, will act for the defendant, Royal Sun Alliance. The London International Exhibition Centre, also known as ExCeL London, looks to its insurers – including RSA Insurance, Allianz and Zurich – to pay up in relation to lockdown losses after it was temporarily transformed into an NHS Nightingale Hospital in 2020.
