Ed Grigg

Ed has a broad commercial practice which covers both litigation and advisory work. He has particular expertise in securities fraud litigation, having acted in two of the major claims brought under sections 90 and 90A FSMA over the last few years.

• Various Investors v Serco Group plc (one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2024) and Various Investors v G4S Ltd: claims under section 90A FSMA for statutory compensation in relation to published information (with Shail Patel KC and Carola Binney); see [2023] EWHC 2863 (Ch) (application concerning the right of a company to assert privilege against its shareholders).
• Novitas Loans Ltd v AmTrust Specialty Ltd: multi-million pound proceedings arising from a failed litigation funding scheme (with Ben Elkington KC and George McDonald); see [2025] EWCA Civ 755 (successful appeal to obtain disclosure of further documents concerning policies of professional indemnity insurance).
• Advising on the terms of a customer licensing agreement between a major software supplier and a developer (with Roger Stewart KC).
• Defending a commodity trading company against a £1.6m claim by one of its supply chain financiers.
• Acting for a healthcare startup in a £400k claim against one of its pharmacy partners.
