Carola accepts instructions in all of Chambers’ main practice areas. She has a particular interest in civil fraud, commercial litigation and arbitration, sports law and professional liability.
She has experience of working as part of a large counsel team on complex and large-scale matters and is currently instructed on behalf of the claimants in Suppipat & Ors v Narongdej & Ors, a $2 billion fraud claim and one of The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2022. She also regularly appears as sole advocate in the County Court and has already appeared unled in the High Court. Before coming to the Bar, Carola read History at Magdalen College, Oxford, graduating with a First (4th highest in year) and winning several University and College prizes. She took a year out to teach English in China, before undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Law at Oxford Brookes and an LLM at Cambridge. While at Oxford, Carola won the University’s Ronnie Payne Prize for Student Journalism. She has been published in several national newspapers and magazines, and during pupillage won first prize in The Times Law Awards.

Carola is rapidly developing considerable experience of acting in high-value and complex litigation involving allegations of conspiracy, deceit, secret commissions and dishonest assistance. Her recent experience includes:
Carola is developing a broad commercial practice, with experience of both litigation and arbitration. Having already been instructed as sole counsel in High Court Arbitration Act proceedings, she regularly appears in the County Court in her own right. She is particularly interested in cases with an international dimension, having specialised in the conflict of laws during her LLM and assisted with advising on several conflicts matters as a pupil. Carola is a member of the Professional Negligence Bar Association.
Carola receives instructions in a range of sports-related matters, including commercial disputes with a sports angle, disciplinary proceedings in respect of individual athletes, and sports governance matters. She has experience of proceedings before a range of sports tribunals, including the Court of Arbitration for Sport, FA and ICC disciplinary panels, and FA Rule K arbitral proceedings. Carola is a member of the British Association for Sports Law.
Several of Carola’s recent commercial instructions have had an insolvency angle, and having spent one of her three seats gaining exposure to a wide range of insolvency-related matters during pupillage she is keen to develop this area of her practice further. Her experience thus far includes assisting (as a pupil) with several sets of directors’ disqualification proceedings (both for the Secretary of State and for the respondent director), an appeal against the dismissal of an application to set aside a statutory demand, and a complex £3 million Quistclose trust claim on the assets of a partnership in liquidation.
