Associates are not members of Chambers and may maintain separate practices which are unconnected to 4 New Square.

Associates are qualified legal practitioners and subject to the rules and regulations of their respective regulatory body which for barristers may include, the Bar Standards Board (England and Wales), the Faculty of Advocates (Scotland) and Bar of Northern Ireland. In respect of solicitors, this may include the Solicitors Regulation Authority (England and Wales), the Law Society of Scotland and the Law Society of Northern Ireland. Those qualified in England and Wales are subject to the Legal Ombudsman Scheme and those qualified in Scotland are subject to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission. Complaints concerning practitioners in Northern Ireland are managed by the relevant regulatory body.
