Mr Paquetá was charged by The FA with four breaches of FA Rule E5.1 in relation to Premier League fixtures between November 2022 and August 2023. It was alleged that he had intentionally sought to receive yellow cards to influence betting markets – charges which carried the risk of a lifetime ban from football.
Following a full hearing before an independent Regulatory Commission, all charges under Rule E5 were found to be not proven. Two charges of breaching Rule F3 – failing to provide information – were upheld. The written reasons are not yet available.
