High Court decision on effect of budgets on solicitor client costs

Mr Justice Constable today handed down judgment in the first High Court appellate level decision on the effect of between the parties costs budgets on solicitor client costs.

The case also considered the circumstances in which a client care letter forms part of the overall contract of retainer alongside a CFA.

4 New Square Chambers’ Roger Mallalieu KC acted for the successful appellant and Robert Marven KC acted for the respondent.
