Helen Evans KC Appointed Chair of Appeal Committee of CIMA

We are delighted to announce that Helen Evans KC has been appointed as Chair of the Appeal Committee of CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, alongside her work at the Bar.

Helen was appointed KC in 2022 and her practice encompasses professional liability, professional disciplinary, fraud and insurance coverage work.

She has particular expertise in accountants’ and auditors’ negligence and disciplinary matters, including acting for the KPMG partner in the FRC proceedings arising out of the Carillion audit, and in respect of other investigations into accountants and auditors.  In her CIMA role, Helen will be hearing appeals against first instance decisions in members’ disciplinary matters.

Helen’s appointment will take effect on 1 May 2024 for a period of 3 years, and she will continue her usual practice as a barrister, and co-author of the solicitors’ and barristers’ negligence chapters in Jackson & Powell.
