4 New Square Chambers is delighted that George Spalton KC has been named in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 2026, which recognises lawyers for their excellence and their role in the most significant and relevant legal matters of the past year.
George’s inclusion reflects a year of high-profile work in complex, high-value international disputes. He acted for Nissan in a significant civil fraud claim against its former CEO, Carlos Ghosn, securing a successful outcome in the British Virgin Islands, which determined that Mr Ghosn had misappropriated US$32 million from the company (instructed by MKS).
He also appeared on behalf of Barrick Gold (instructed by Norton Rose Fulbright) in an US$18 million dispute in the Chancery Division. Other highlights include a warranty claim for Node 4 (instructed by Pinsent Masons) and an LCIA arbitration concerning sanctions (instructed by Enyo Law), alongside his work as arbitrator.
In addition, George was appointed to the LCIA Court and serves as Vice President of the LCIA European Users’ Council. He also sits on the Executive Committee of the Commercial Bar Association (COMBAR).
We warmly congratulate George on this well-deserved recognition.
