Our Expertise

Business Protection

Our barristers are regularly instructed in high-value Business Protection disputes. Drawing on expertise across Commercial Litigation and Civil Fraud, members advise and act in cases where urgent action is required to protect businesses’ commercial interests and valuable assets.

Members of Chambers have substantial experience in cases concerned with the protection of clients’ businesses from unlawful competitive activity. This includes applications for injunctive relief to enforce post-termination restraints in employment contracts, to secure remedies where employees orchestrate combined team moves and to protect and prevent the misuse of confidential information. This work also includes frequent applications for freezing, search and imaging orders.

Members also act in the substantive proceedings that follow, including claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, conspiracy and fraud, providing strategic, commercially focused advice at every stage of a dispute.

Members also publish and speak regularly on business protection matters. Their work includes a leading textbook on jurisdiction published by Paul Nicholls KC, titled “Employment and Commercial Disputes – the International Aspects” (Bloomsbury, 2020).
