Douglas James to Speak at Vinson & Elkins’ Middle East Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Conference

Douglas James will be speaking at the Vinson & Elkins Middle East Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Conference taking place in Dubai on 17 October 2024. The 2024 conference, titled “Keeping the Faith? An Examination of the Role of Good Faith in International Construction Projects” will explore key issues in construction disputes.

Douglas will join the session “At the Dispute Stage,” which focuses on challenges when project relationships break down, covering:

  • The role of the engineer in certification under competing pressures
  • Suspension, termination, and associated costs
  • The role of good faith in international construction disputes

Douglas will be joined by Sean Brannigan KC (4 Pump Court), Paul Buckingham KC (Keating Chambers), and Nabeel Ikram (Vinson & Elkins), who will chair the session.
