4 New Square Chambers, in collaboration with the Law Commission, is pleased to host a special event focused on the Law Commission’s consultation on Contempt of Court.

This event will bring together solicitors and counsel dealing with contempt applications in commercial fraud cases or against professionals,  to discuss and make suggestions for reforms that aim to improve the fairness and coherence of contempt of court laws.

Attendees will hear from Prof Penney Lewis, Commissioner for Criminal Law, who will give an overview of the project and outline key issues. The event will then feature interactive breakout sessions, facilitated by barristers from 4 New Square and members of the Law Commission, offering participants the chance to engage in in-depth discussions on specific aspects of contempt law. This is a valuable opportunity to share insights, exchange ideas, and explore the impact of the project on the legal system and its future development.

Join us on 17 October 2024 at 8.30 am for a morning of meaningful dialogue, networking, and thought leadership as we tackle one of the most pressing issues in modern litigation.

Details of workshops and speakers will be released soon.

This event is free to attend but places are strictly limited.

RSVP by Thursday3rd October to events@4newsquare.com.
