Ed studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford, where he was JCR President. He graduated with a First, an Open Scholarship, a Final Honour School Prize, and the top first in British Government and Politics.

During the GDL and BPTC, Ed was a part-time caseworker for the North Kensington Law Centre and Kensington CAB, including during the Grenfell Tower fire, and volunteered at FRU. He received Hardwicke, Denning, City University, Harold G. Fox, and EFTA Court Scholarships, and was runner-up in the UKLSA International Moot & Advocacy Competition.

Prior to pupillage, Ed was the Fox Scholar at Canada’s leading litigation firm where he worked on complex commercial and public law matters, including an insolvency case which established the current test for the exercise of a court’s jurisdiction to vest real property rights. He was a judicial assistant at the Ontario Court of Appeal during the first constitutional reference for 32 years, and a Trainee in the Cabinet of Judge Hammermann at the EFTA Court in Luxembourg.

In his spare time Ed is a cricket commentator and was part of the official commentary team for Ireland’s inaugural test match against Pakistan.
