On 30th June 2025, the Divisional Court handed down judgment in R (Al-Haq) v Secretary of State for Business and Trade.

4 New Square Chambers’ Richard O’Brien KC and Jonathan Worboys acted for the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, instructed by the Government Legal Department. Anthony Jones acted for Amnesty International UK and Human Rights Watch, the second and third interveners.
