News & Judgments
14 January 2025

We are delighted that seven members of 4 New Square Chambers are involved in two cases listed in The Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases of 2025, showcasing the most high-profile proceedings of the year:

  • R (on the application of Al-Haq) v Secretary of State for Business and Trade:

Described by The Lawyer as “one of the most divisive geopolitical issues today”, the case centres on the UK government’s suspension of certain arms exports to Israel. The Palestinian human rights group, Al-Haq, challenges the exclusion of F-35 fighter jet parts from the suspension, arguing that their use in Gaza could violate international humanitarian law. This case examines the Government’s Strategic Export Licensing Criteria

  • EuroChem North-West 2 v Société Générale & ING:
  • The Pan-NOx Emissions Group Litigation (Dieselgate)

    • Kendrah Potts, instructed by Signature Litigation, acts for the Renault ADs in this major class action involving emissions regulations.

    • Members of our costs team are also involved in this case.
