Members of chambers have acted for and against patent agents and trade-mark attorneys in relation to claims made against them. Few such claims have come to Court. Two members of chambers represented the successful Defendants in the leading Court of Appeal decision – Arbiter v Gill Jennings and Every P.N.L.R. 680. The specialist nature of much of the work of patent agents requires not only a sound knowledge of the relevant legal principles but also an ability to understand and assimilate the technicalities of the underlying work.
