We have experience of a wide range of IT disputes (court and arbitral), particularly those disputes caused by the defective performance, delay and failure of IT implementation projects. These projects have included immigration control systems; automatic payment systems; automated warehousing, picking and distribution systems; telephone software systems; and systems for retail distribution businesses. We also have experience of disputes concerning the ownership and use of confidential IT know-how.
Recently seven members of Chambers acted for a government body in one of the largest IT disputes (an LCIA Arbitration) in the United Kingdom. The dispute arose out of the design and implementation of a complex IT system. The contract value was just under £1bn with claims in excess of £500 million.
