Rick Liddell and Nick Broomfield acted for the International Association of Athletics Federation (“IAAF”) in its appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (“CAS”) in Switzerland last week. The IAAF successfully appealed the decision of the Doping Committee of the Hungarian National Anti-doping Organisation, which had exonerated the Hungarian discus thrower Zoltan Kovago from any sanction.
On 26 July 2012 the CAS Panel allowed the IAAF’s appeal and found that Mr Kovago was guilty of an anti-doping rule violation and sanctioned him with a two year period of ineligibility: Click here to see the press release on the CAS website.
