Date: 24/09/2012

4 New Square has further improved its position in the Legal 500 rankings for 2012. In total Chambers can boast a total of 53 barristers ranked in the new edition of the directory, including 19 leading silks, 30 leading juniors and 4 other recommended barristers across a wide range of categories.

A major highlight of the latest listings is our rating, once again, as a top tier set for Professional Negligence. According to Legal 500, “Four New Square is at the top of the tree for professional negligence matters” with clients singling out “excellent clerking” as one the key reasons for Chambers’ continued success in this area.

4 New Square continues to be regarded as a leading set in Construction, Costs, Insurance & Reinsurance and Product Liability, with our barristers described as forming “an extremely strong team, with a stunning breadth of activity”.

Chambers progress is also marked by the notable achievement of rankings in new areas. We are now ranked as leading set for mediation (housing several accredited practitioners), and have 15 barristers achieving new individual rankings. In Justin Fenwick QC, Neil Hext and George Spalton we have 3 new barristers recognised in Commercial Litigation with Spalton also being ranked as a new leading junior in International Arbitration. Katie Powell has been acknowledge as a leading junior in Construction and is also recommended for Product Liability for the first time. Other notable new entries include Can Yeginsu, leading junior in Administrative and Public Law, Eva Lomnicka newly ranked for Banking and Finance , Anneliese Day QC and Ben Elkington QC have been ranked as leading silks in Insurance & Reinsurance, along with David Turner QC who has also been recommended.

Furthermore, Patrick Lawrence QC joins several other 4 New Square practitioners in the rankings for Media, Entertainment and Sport, with fellow Sports specialist Graeme McPherson QC adding a new leading silk ranking for Professional Discipline and Regulatory Law to his name. Paul Parker is ranked as a leading junior in the same category, with Shail Patel joining the long list of members of Chambers in the Professional Negligence rankings.
