Tim is a commercial practitioner with particular experience in the following areas: claims against professionals; construction and engineering disputes; costs litigation; and general commercial litigation. He is described by clients in the 2011 Legal 500 as having ‘an extremely bright mind’ and as an ‘excellent advocate’ with ‘the potential to rise to the top of the profession’.
Tim has considerable experience of working as part of a team of lawyers in substantial litigation, including group litigation, having been involved in a number of complex commercial disputes including the TAG litigation and the Innovator litigation. He has also appeared as sole advocate at all judicial levels up to and including the Court of Appeal. He particularly enjoys cases involving complicated expert evidence as he has a strong scientific and technical background.
Prior to joining chambers, Tim read chemistry at Magdalen College Oxford obtaining a first class degree. After leaving Oxford, Tim worked for 2 years as a software developer in the technology department of Goldman Sachs in the London, New York and Hong Kong offices.
Tim is a contributor to the 7th Edition of Jackson & Powell on Professional Liability (Sweet & Maxwell - to be published in 2011) and also contributes to Butterworths Costs Bulletin (edited by Nick Bacon QC)
