“The calm and professional Anneliese Day QC is fast gaining an outstanding reputation in silk. Lauded for her tenacious approach, she is a lawyer of great technical excellence” (Chambers & Partners 2013: professional negligence and construction professionals).
“A very talented new silk", “very client friendly” and “a thorough and dogged litigator” (Chambers & Partners 2013 : commercial dispute resolution).
Past editions of the Directories have also described her as: “absolutely zooming at the moment” the “charming Anneliese Day “impresses with her sound advice and "incredibly articulate and eloquent advocacy, often gaining favourable results against senior opponents”; “a true all rounder who is a “damned good court performer”, “extremely bright and formidable”, “superb with clients” and who has “excellent judgment”. "She quickly cuts through the detail and provides easily understandable advice”.
Anneliese’s strong practice covers four principal areas: construction and commercial disputes, professional liability claims in a commercial context and insurance/reinsurance. She has extensive experience of both of both domestic and international arbitrations and regularly appears in the Commercial Court, Chancery Division, TCC and appellate courts as well as in mediations and adjudications.
Anneliese relishes the challenge of being involved in cases against more senior opposition but is equally at home working as part of a large team involved in multi-party litigation. She is a firm believer in seeking to bring added value to any case whatever her role.
Anneliese has an extremely strong and international academic background. After studying law at Cambridge (where she obtained a first), Anneliese was awarded a Kennedy Scholarship and spent a successful year at Harvard. On returning to the U.K. she came fifth in Bar Finals. She thrives on the cut and thrust of the court room but also aims to bring commerciality to the cases she is involved in.
Anneliese has been an editor of Jackson & Powell on Professional Liability since 2002.
She is a member of the Professional Negligence Bar Association, COMBAR, the Chancery Bar Association, London Common Law & Commercial Bar Association, Tecbar, the Society of Construction Law and the South Eastern Circuit.
Anneliese has acted and accepts instructions as an arbitrator.
