Katherine is developing a broad practice within chambers' areas of expertise, in commercial law, construction law, banking and financial services, professional negligence, European Union law, public law and public international law.
Katherine studied Law, French and Spanish at University of Queensland, Australia. She holds a LL.M in International Humanitarian Law (mention très bien) from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, and a PhD in International Law (mention très bien avec félicitations de jury), from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland.
Prior to coming to the bar, she worked as teaching and research assistant to the former Under Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and Legal Counsel to the United Nations, Professor Nicholas Michel, at the Faculty of Law, University of Geneva, Switzerland, for Professors Paola Gaeta and Marco Sassòli at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, Switzerland, and as personal research assistant to Professor Marcelo G. Kohen, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. In 2011 and 2012, she was a Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, University of Cambridge.
Scholarships and Prizes
Katherine was awarded a Scholarship for Prospective Researchers by the Swiss National Science Foundation (Fonds National Suisse), and an Ambassadorial Scholarship by the Rotary Foundation. As part of a two-person team, she won First Prize in the Hong Kong Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot Asia Pacific Competition, and the Australia Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot Competition. Katherine was awarded a Hardwicke Award and a Lord Denning Scholarship by Lincoln’s Inn.
In 2015, Katherine was a part of the team representing 4 New Square awarded Best Team at the inaugural Arbitration Weekend of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators. She was individually awarded Best Individual Advocate voted by delegates.
