Jo studied English Literature at Durham University, going on to complete the CPE and BVC at City University and the Inns of Court School of Law respectively. A member of Lincoln’s Inn, she was awarded the Sir Thomas More Bursary during her BVC year. During her gap year Jo spent 3 months in the Cayman Islands working in a law firm involved with large international financial disputes as well as all aspects of civil litigation.
During pupillage, Jo was supervised by Charles Phipps, Graham Chapman, Neil Hext and Ben Elkington and gained experience in all core areas of Chambers’ work, including solicitors’, brokers’ and financial advisors’ negligence, insurance disputes and fraud, especially mortgage fraud. Jo now appears regularly in trials, applications and interlocutory hearings in the High Court and county courts in these and all other areas of Chambers’ expertise, including all aspects of mortgage related litigation. She has also appeared in a number of matters concerning financial services, contracts for difference, and consumer credit agreements, and is keen to expand her practice in these areas.
