Profile
Jeremy joined Four New Square in February 2004 bringing with him a wealth of expertise in major commercial and common law litigation. His main areas of specialism are insurance, professional indemnity, and pharmaceutical and other product liability law and technical disputes.

Jeremy accepted the position of Head of Chambers in January 2009.

During recent years:

  • he acted for the successful appellants in Barker v Corus
  • he acted for the main group of commercial property insurers in their claims against Total arising out of the Buncefield explosion;
  • he is acting for Zurich Insurance in the continuing Employers Liability Trigger Litigation;
  • his insurance work has included coverage disputes such as Hawley v Luminar, the successful defence of claims by Southampton Football Club and Blackburn Rovers Football Club on a consortium of insurers led by Avon, and disputes arising out of the construction of oil refineries in Italy and India;
  • his professional indemnity work includes claims against lawyers, surveyors, brokers, insolvency practitioners and accountants;
  • his product liability work has included cases of alleged organophosphate explosive bought by pilots and cabin crew;
  • his clinical negligence work included Rees v. Darlington Memorial Hospital NHS Trust in the House of Lords;
  • he acted as leading counsel for the Claimants in the MMR litigation and advised the Claimants in the Persona Litigation.
