Stephen read classics at Oxford, holding a scholarship and obtaining a first in honour moderations. He then taught for a year in Australia. He studied the CPE in London and whilst taking the Bar Vocational Course was a tutor in equity and trusts at the City University. He joined chambers in 2001, on completion of pupillage. 

Stephen is a busy chancery and commercial junior. The main areas of his work include professional liability, insurance and general commercial litigation.
