Profile

Graeme’s reputation as a rising star was confirmed in 2008 when he became the youngest member of the Bar that year to be appointed Silk.

His work had already earned him consistently favourable comments in the directories –

for professional liability:

‘A rising star’ ... ‘the best thing since sliced bread’ (2004), ‘An effective, pleasant and hardworking junior’ (2005), ‘A solicitors’ favourite ... effective’ (2006), ‘A real star’ ... ‘he is just fantastic and can turn his mind to anything’ ... ‘his judgment is first-rate and he works like a Trojan’ (2007), ‘An invaluable asset on any team’ (2008)

- and for sports:

‘An expert in horse racing matters’ ... ‘a highly effective advocate’ (2006), ‘Excellent on disciplinary matters’ (2007) ‘A fantastic courtroom presence’ (2008).

Today Graeme's practice primarily covers three areas: commercial disputes (including insurance and financial services litigation), professional liability claims and sports-related work. He has a growing number of cases involving bloodstock, racing and equine work.

He is the co-author of the Regulation of Financial Services and Financial Practitioners chapters in Jackson & Powell on Professional Liability (Sweet & Maxwell, 6th ed). He has taught Tort, Contract and Constitutional/Administrative law to undergraduates at Cambridge University. He still lectures regularly on substantive and procedural matters.

Outside his work at the Bar, Graeme trains racehorses under permit.
