Justin Fenwick practises extensively in most areas of commercial and related civil litigation and arbitration and has particular experience in the cross-examination of technical experts, the detection of commercial fraud and fraudulent accounting, the analysis of financial information and the application of information technology. He has been involved in a large number of group litigation actions and was largely responsible for the formulation of the pioneering guidance on procedure and costs in group actions which was developed in the Opren litigation and approved in that litigation by the Court of Appeal.
Particular areas of expertise include insurance and reinsurance disputes especially those relating to coverage and the construction of policy terms, product liability claims with special emphasis on claims involving complex scientific and technical issues and group actions, substantial professional liability claims involving lawyers, accountants, surveyors and valuers, architects, engineers and financial services professionals. Justin also has extensive experience of construction disputes in the UK, the Middle East and the Far East. Other areas of practice include public law, local government and VAT.
