Regularly acts for employers, contractors and sub-contractors in court proceedings and arbitrations. Regular advisory, drafting and advocacy work in international and domestic construction related claims.

Past and current cases include:

  • Junior Counsel in £20 million dispute against project managers and computer consultants jointly advising on the construction of an automated distribution warehouse (Universal Music v. E.C. Harris).
  • Junior Counsel for McAlpine in relation to the Panatown/UIPL litigation, one of the largest construction cases recently dealt  with in TCC involving proceedings against 36 sub-contractors and professionals.
  • Representing an employer in a claim brought by a contractor under both interim and final accounts.
  • Numerous arbitrations in relation to new build residential properties.
  • Representing contractor in relation to design and build contract of commercial premises.
  • Acting for local authorities in relation to subsidence claims.
  • Acting for and against many of the major contractors, including Amec, Wimpey, Jarvis and McAlpine.
  • Regularly advising/assisting construction professionals and contractors on claims referred adjudication including acting for employers challenging jurisdiction of adjudicator under 1996 Act
  • Acting on behalf of Multiplex in relation to various disputes arising out of the construction of Wembley Stadium
  • Acting on behalf of Shepherd Homes in relation to subsidence issues arising out of construction of housing estate: lead trials due to take place this summer
  • Acting on behalf of construction professionals in a wide variety of contexts, including architects and engineers
  • Acting on behalf of AMEC in relation to joint venture projects in relation to nuclear installations
  • Acting for a carpet contractor in relation to disputes arising out of hotel installations at Heathrow Terminal 5
  • Acting on behalf of the government departments in relation to various construction disputes arising out of the refurbishment of government buildings
  • Acting on behalf of a Joint Venture Agreement in respect of issues arising out of motorway construction in a case involving both English and Scottish law
  • Acting on behalf of park managers in respect of a fire at a warehouse asserting to have caused £80 million worth of damage
  • Regularly considering and advising on issues of limitation and duty in a construction context
